Important | 2022-07-13

Food is a vital part of the human existence, it is the backbone of economies, it frames relationships between humans and nature. Food waste represents a multifaceted challenge: financial losses, severe environmental burdens, risks to food security and deepening societal inequality. To address this Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Lithuania and Kaunas University of Technology in partnership with Copenhagen Business School and Natural Resources Institute Finland (LUKE) are starting the project “Let’s not waste food”.

The project aims to strengthen understanding of the way young consumers interact with food and discover strategies to decrease avoidable household food waste amount in the region.

This will be achieved by researching possible methodologies, identifying and testing selected methods as well as creating and communicating guidelines for relevant stakeholders on household food waste reduction.
